Mudfog, Teesside’s very own small publishing press will be celebrating the release of four new pamphlets and one full length anthology of poetry and short fiction by writers living in and around the Tees Valley.
Mudfog was established in 1994 to provide an outlet for the work of committed local writers and to offer a stepping stone toward wider recognition. With the fall of several small presses across the North and the insularity of the mainstream poetry publishers, there is more need than ever for small-scale outfits like Mudfog to show that quality writing exists far beyond the horizons of the London-based elite.
The celebrations will take place in the function room of The Temple, Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough on Wed 20th June with readings from new and established Mudfoggers. The launch begins at 8.00pm. Entrance: £3.00/£2.00.
Mudfog’s five new titles: At The Breakwater by Gareth Spark, The Luscious Plum by Bert Ward, Oodles of Noodles by Linda French, Blowing May-laid Eggs in November by Katharine Banner, and Glass Blowing – an anthology of new work by the Harrow Road Writer’s Group will be on sale at the event. Other copies can be bought c/o Cleveland Arts on 01642 264 651.
