Phoenix Art Group are holing an exhibition launch and charity auction of authentic and personally signed LPs and DVDs at Sam’s Place, Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough on 9th December at 7.00 pm.
Phoenix Art Group, a group supported by tees valley arts, have been working with local artist Andy Broderick to produce a work called ESCAPES, a group of twenty paintings made from local pigments from places like Saltburn and Eston. Andy has been using these materials in his practice for some years. The result is a group of twenty paintings that are to be exhibited at Sam’s Place, Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough from 16th November 2005 until the New Year.
The Group meet regularly in Stockton to provide safe environment for those who have come into contact with mental health issues. Their main aim is to build closer links to the community through a sense of well being, using creativity towards personal development.
A special feature of this exhibition will be an auction of four signed discs, three of them gold discs of stars Debbie Harry, Kate Bush, Elvis Costello and Hollwood legend Dustin Hoffman. The auction will take place at the private view on Friday 9th December 2005 at 7pm.
Phoenix Art Group Co-ordinator Adrian Moule commented “Our Price Records have kindly donated the discs and have advised me of their value and collectable importance. The discs are signed in hand and come with authentication certificates. There will be a reserve on these discs so bidding will start at £180.00. All who have an interest are welcome to the private view on the 9th December from 5pm until 8pm.”
The Auction is to help raise funds for Phoenix Art Group to continue their work.
