Tees Valley Arts are happy to announce that they are now officially Arts Award Welcome.
“We’ve been delivering Arts Award with young people in the Tees Valley for a number of years now, and have successfully supported over 200 young people to achieve their awards through our projects, so we’re now hoping to work with many more” said Jane Gray, Education Officer at Tees Valley Arts.
Arts Award is a national qualification which supports young people aged 11-25 to develop as artists and arts leaders and is really flexible, suiting those who have never taken part in the arts before to those are who doing arts-based degrees. The Arts Award Welcome scheme is a badge scheme open to arts and cultural organisations who are able to offer young people activities, guidance and expertise which helps them achieve elements of the award. Tees Valley Arts offer professionally-led arts activities & projects, events with opportunities to perform/exhibit/screen and the opportunity to meet or work alongside arts professionals.Participating in the arts can be life-changing for young people, and we see the results of that time again through our projects. The award enables young people to gain a qualification whilst they are doing something they enjoy, all the while developing essential skills such as teamwork, leadership and planning.
