The long open path
leads to large automatic doors
behind them a dull room,
carefully move along , wondering
if it is safe to cough, you don’t
want to disrupt the evidence;
people learning, people
looking all around this place
like a crime scene, swishing
of brushes in the distance,
banging doors, a line saying,
CAUTION, you should not
touch anything behind it,
evidence in clear bags
the smell of dust lingers -
hiding here is the unknown truth;
people move so delicately
so as not to lose their mind,
people come looking
Wondering, asking,
“What happened here?”
The answer is in the evidence.
