Hello, I’m Hannah! I’m an aspiring creative marketer and advertiser and current postgraduate student at Durham University studying for a masters in Marketing. I’m hoping to start a career in the arts industry as ever since I can remember I’ve been obsessed with all things related to drama, music and dance! I studied my BA in English Literature and Drama at the University of East Anglia and was involved with lots of theatre during my 3 years there, I even directed a musical!
I found Tees Valley Arts when I was searching the internet trying to find work experience placements in the local area that focus primarily on the creative arts. I sent an email straight away and I was absolutely delighted when I received an email back from Peter the next day telling me I could start the next week with them!
Today has been my first today with the organisation and I’ve already met so many lovely people and been offered about 50 cups of tea! I’ve been analysing the website and various social media pages of Tees Valley Arts and making suggestions about what works well and what could be improved. This included using lots more photos on the website and social media and pushing more events on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram! I’m excited to start work with another volunteer next week to begin doing just that. I’ve also been shown how to update the weekly newsletter emails, how to update the website and have written my first blog post for Tees Valley Arts!
I’m very excited to be working on my day off Uni every Tuesday and start putting to practice everything I’m currently learning in my masters degree. I’m looking forward to helping out in the office, assisting on any upcoming projects and offering my insight whenever I can!
