Ek Zuban was a cross cultural writing and translation project offering writers living on Teesside the chance to explore the rich tapestry of literary traditions that co-exist within the area. The project was aimed at English, Urdu, Punjabi and Hindi writers who wished to explore the problems of translation and cross-cultural collaboration. The group were working towards producing a multi-lingual book of creative work in June 2000.
The project is a great opportunity for writers to realise the wealth of cultural and poetic traditions that currently co-habit within our area.

Ek Zuban will encourage the writers to step outside their own traditions and embrace the insights and inspirations of worlds that lie beyond their own words.
