This was part of a Cleveland Arts project for the National Year of Reading, developed in partnership with Stockton-on-Tees Local Education Authority. It is supported by the Arts Council of England’s National Year of Reading Writers in Schools scheme and Northern Arts.
Poet and writer Andy Croft worked in five schools in the Norton and Portrack areas of Stockton-on-Tees. There were four primary schools involved – Tilery, Crooksbarn, Frederick Nattrass and Norton – and one secondary school – Norton School. In each Andy encouraged writing about some of the things that were popular with young people – football, computer games, sport, tv etc.
